The elite of basketball shooters like Stephen Curry or James Harden, the last with his characteristic step back, are throwing more and more faraway. This trending has to increase with time when people realizes that throwing from 8, 9 or 10 meters is relatively easy. It is not necessary much more effort from this distances than from 6 or 7 meters. And it is gratifying, you feel like if you were special because ordinary people don't do it. With the proper flexion of legs and a flick of the wrist it doesn't require more effort than a normal three pointer thrown with a bad style.
I am for example completely sure that I could have a good percentage of successes if I trained it with regularity.
Maybe fields must modify its size and the number of players increased if the trend continues.
Also the shape of the court could be modified in the future. It has to be widen on the extremes like it is indicated on the drawing bellow. Shooters need more space to shoot from the sides, because if not the game is loosing the oportunity to play more times by the sides and be more lateral, of being seen from a different point of view that increments the number of creative new plays.
If this shape of courts were implemented (that would have to be cosensual) I think at the beginning people would feel unconfortable, probably the players step on the new lines. But later all people would think why before the courts didn't have that shape.
In future articles I will coment more innovations that could be implemented, for example based on physics and electronic devices like drones.
