Own the Zone ----> Review

This book in Spanish called "Dominar la Zona", it is a translation of one which original title is "Own the Zone". The book deserves the pity because it teaches tricks about how to defend different zones and at the same time how to attack them. But the version in Spanish is full of errors of translation and typos.

The book has Pau Gasol as a cover in the Spanish version. It seems that in Spain he opens the door to sell all related with basketball, but also with Banks as a claim of trust for customers.  Now he plays for San Antonio Spurs together with Kawhi Leonard and Tony Parker under the orders of coach Popovic but on the cover was playing for Los Angeles Lakers where he won two NBA rings. He is now on way to the NBA ring in San Antonio.

What I like most the book are the tips that it gives about how to defend in 2-3 zone, that is 2 players in front and 3 players behind. This was the purpose why I bought it. It is very important the "fake position." When the point guard of the attacking team has the ball, one of the players who are defending in front (normally the point guard and the guard) must go out and meet the player. This gives the clue for which of the players of the second line that are on the sides of the zone around the center must go to the "fake position." That is, must give some steps towards the external side. So in case the attacking point guard give a pass toward the forward who is on his side, the man on the fake position can defend him. This helps a lot to the guard that is defending the attacking point guard that without the help of the forward it the fake position would have to defend to two players at the same time. It resolves one of the main headaches of defending in a 2-3 zone.
